Macau

Macau — the Romanian card game, multiplayer in real time

We built and run macao-online.ro: live tables of 2–4 players on the Romanian rules, in 11 languages, with no account and nothing to install. The client is a Flutter app — in the browser today, soon on iPhone and Android, on the same servers.

What’s in Macau

Public tables of 2, 3 or 4

Pick the number of seats and the table fills in seconds. Points and in-game currency go by finishing place.

Bots, always marked

If a seat stays empty for 30–90 seconds, a bot takes it, announced by a countdown. A bot carries a BOT mark, never chats and only plays at public tables.

A shuffle you can check

The server publishes the fingerprint of a secret seed before the first card, every player adds a seed of their own, and after the game the app recomputes the deal and shows whether it matches.

Friends, clubs and tournaments

Tables with friends, chat and voice at the table, clubs with their own ladder, tournaments at set times and a monthly season with rewards.

11 languages

Romanian, English, German, Spanish, Polish, Serbian, Turkish and Greek, plus Hebrew, Arabic and Persian, which are written right to left.

No account, nothing to install

Open play.macao-online.ro and you’re at a table. Practice against bots works offline too. Pro removes the ads; nothing you can buy changes the cards or the rules.

On the Romanian rules

Every other card follows suit or rank; seven change the game. 2 and 3 attack, 4 makes you sit out a turn, 7 cancels an attack, the ace changes the suit, and the jokers give +5 and +10. Attacks stack — whoever can’t answer draws the lot.

The seven special cards in Macau: 2 (+2), 3 (+3), 4 (sit out), 7 (cancels), ace (any suit), black joker (+5), red joker (+10)

How it’s built

The game, the servers and the site are ours: we designed, built and run them.

The game app

Flutter

A Flutter app that runs today as Flutter Web at play.macao-online.ro. The iOS and Android apps play on the same servers, at the same tables.

A fair shuffle

SHA-256 · HMAC-SHA256 · Fisher–Yates

The server commits to a 32-byte seed before the deal; its seed and the players’ are mixed with HMAC-SHA256 and the deck is shuffled with Fisher–Yates. Anyone can recompute the deal after the game.

The game’s site

Astro · Cloudflare

A static site in 11 languages, with hreflang, rules, guides and news, kept apart from the game app.

Questions

About Macau

Who made Macau (macao-online.ro)?

TAGonSoft SRL, a studio in Iași, Romania. We designed and built the game, the servers and the site, and we run them ourselves.

What is the Macau game built with?

The client is a Flutter app that runs in the browser today (Flutter Web) at play.macao-online.ro. The iOS and Android apps are coming soon and play on the same servers. The game’s site is built with Astro and served by Cloudflare.

Can I check that the deal was fair?

Yes. Before the first card the server publishes the SHA-256 fingerprint of a secret seed, and every player adds a seed of their own. After the game the server reveals them all, and the app recomputes the deck and shows whether it matches the cards you were dealt.

Do bots play at the tables?

Only at public tables that don’t fill within 30–90 seconds, and they are always marked. Friend tables, private rooms and tournaments seat people only.

Can you build a multiplayer game for us?

Yes. We build real-time multiplayer games and apps with Flutter for web, iOS and Android, from prototype to store launch and operation.

Why it matters for your project

Like Table Online, Macau is a multiplayer game we build and run ourselves. Real-time tables, bots that never pass for people, a shuffle the player can verify and 11 languages from one Flutter app — the same problems we solve for clients, from prototype to production.
